10 strategies to excell, observed over the last 13 years

Study by UHDR UniverseCity (2000 -> 2013)

This study has been operated by UHDR UniverseCity. It is a subjective observation of 98 people, and an objective observation of the tangible achievements and excellences of these people. Each person has activated a different and specific set of those strategies.

  1. Dual mastery, or more

20131026_FBD001_0

To excell, one needs to master his subject. Today, lots of people have lots of competences. Things evolve rapidly. To be able to make a difference, and bring something exceptional, we need to bring transversal intelligence, on top of deep comprehension and mastery of the subject(s). The philosopher gardener, the designer computer specialist, the cyclist economist, the singer traveler, the accountant in politics,… excelling in at least 2 areas makes a paramount difference (74%). On one area and on the other. People who limited their views and competences in only 1 area, or in none, faded out in a grey sea of indifference.

  1. Able to « alchemize » and cruise through personal challenges, which strengthened them

They all went through very tough challenges (bankrupcy, separation, illnesses,..). Those didn’t kill them because they always were looking ahead, and learning from every signal of life. They (95%) eventually accepted their fate, lived them totally – not in denial, understood what these situations could teach them as a person, have forgiven who they had to, and eventually thanked life and its actors for these events. This made the stronger, more mature as human beings. These specific events made them able to make the extra mile, to get to the upper shelf of excellence. People victimizing died, or faded out.

  1. Takes quality time to « connect spiritually »

They regularly take special personal quality time to connect to « other dimensions » (93%). It can take infinite shapes : walking alone in nature, pray, personal development seminars, silence, meditation, martial arts, mindfulness, tantra, or any practice or ritual which makes the person more connected with essential keys of personal balance. Going through motions without ever stopping, breathing, and zooming out provokes blindness, unbalance, and pulls one out of personal authenticity, little by little.

  1. Obsessionally follows « animal instinct »

It is not just intuition, but it is coming from the guts, anchored into subtle perception. It is irrational, but connected with events, people, situations. Look how animals were anticipating tsunami’s 30 minutes before. People (91%) as well, if they are well anchored into life, into reality of incarnation, into situations – with their body and senses – are able to connect to this. It signified their survival. Human beings are a prey, and are also gifted with this survival instict. Successful people were following – most of the time against common sense and good advice – their « gutfeeling ». Often it looks like obsession. It is. And most of the time, their obsession leads to excellence. People who are not connected with this « instinct », miss every train and every opportunity to develop themselves.

  1. Searching for information behind appearances

More and more we are aware that so-called « news » in the media only shows what some specific people who « know », want us to see. It’s the same with life. We can stick to appearances of events, or systematically read in between the lines of life. And these questions and answers will add value to our understanding of why we do things, how, for whom and which purpose, etc. It created autonomy, and frees us from dependance from a « system », from a single way of thinking and acting. That’s one of the reasons these people (96%) became strong and excellent in what they do. Because they are all the time questioning and exploring on their paths. People just sticking to appearances become prisoners of a system which wants them to believe whatever is communicated. It’s easy to manipulate « tame sheep ». But they all look alike…

  1. They love to see others evolving and achieving around them

They have a deep desire (77%) to see their families, loved ones, professional teams, and communities achieve their goals, their reasons of being, their quests, their excellences. They are not jalous when one becomes « better », but they are happy and enjoy it, they even facilitate and encourage the « students to become better than the teachers ». It only can be achieved through collaboration, knowledge transfer and sharing. Weak individuals will keep the information and knowledge for themselves, will be jalous and insecure when others excell. They were not be able to fulfill their reasons of being, ending up alone and frustrated. In school we learned to compete – there where collaboration is the key. So the best ones at school too often become the weak ones in the end.

  1. Does not search for similar, but searches for the richness of difference

A french expression « qui se ressemble s’assemble » : « feather flock together ». Yes, it feels secure to have people who are like us, think like us, look like us – but it is keeping us in the very same belief patterns and thus keeps us away from opportunities to learn and imagine new ways to create value. People (94%) interested by, and looking for difference, out-of-comfortzone experiences, on a cultural basis, religious, education, race, knowledge areas, could much better achieve their own goals, and eventually excell in their own area.

  1. Anchoring in couple and family

Excelling people always have (had) a strong family « backoffice » (79%). It’s like the roots of a tree. It cannot become big and strong if roots are weak. The first deep root was most of the time a stable couple, with true affection and able to recharge body, heart and mind when times were tough. Also children were taken care of, given opportunities, with quality time together. Even with their very full lives, true attention was given to their children.

  1. Link with nature

perfectanimalshots39-640x421

Most of truly successful and balanced, happy people (89%), have a special connexion with nature, in one way or another : a garden or vegetable garden, walks in the forest, horesriding or animals, sea or mountain… It energizes them when needed, recharged them, nourished them, connects them to « vital and physical energy ».

  1. Continuous personal questioning, personal development

vie-privee

Sounds contradictory, but successful and happy people do not stick to closed beliefs, they (89%) are continously evolving, learning about life, about the world, about themselves, with curiosity. They are not psychologically « stable », they question themselves, their beliefs, their perceptions and conditioning. « Stability » becomes very soon an obstacle to seeze opportunities to develop oneself and excell.

Conclusion of the 13 years lasting study

All these strategies have one thing in common : love without conditions. It’s a state of mind, an attitude, a way of « being » that – as the sun shines without counting and expecting anything in return – is the basic trigger to all these success strategies. All these also lead to personal balance and happyness.

The contrary of these 10 strategies most of the time lead to frustration, suffering, sadness, resentment, jealousy, fear and illness.
